About the initiative

Gracia cares for children from severely disadvantaged backgrounds, without consideration to race, religion or social standing. Their demographic make-up reflects the geographical area in which they are located.

The children are placed at Gracia as a result of a Court Order and are received by Gracia from either Social Services or the South African Police. A successful handing over of the 20-room hostel to the Gracia Children’s Home took place, early 2023, shortly after which the Foundation paved a large portion of the front property, enhancing the area which was previously red sand and mud.

Further contributions were made with the likes of an Inverter and batteries, to keep the kitchen going, as well as hot water for the children to shower.
