Direct Transact invested in this project 10 years ago where Peas in a Pod have taken care of 60+ girls since then.

The main focus is restorative work with girls who have been abused and have missed out on emotional support and an education on account of the abuse they suffered. They are dependent on Donors and Sponsors to keep their doors open.

The children taken care of are brought in by the South African Police Services and other Statutory organisations. These girls are all victims of abuse. Often the trauma that these girls have endured have led to challenges which exceed emotional challenges, but that of academics as well, where some are placed in special schools to cater for their needs.
